Rembrandt Zegers (Amersfoort, 1983) is a young Dutch conductor active in the Netherlands and Europe. In the inspiring environment of Estonia, meeting great musical personalities as Arvo Pärt and Helena Tulve, Rembrandt Zegers received his conducting education. He completed his Master of Arts in orchestral conducting at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2009, where his teacher and mentor was Paul Mägi (Estonia).

During his studies Rembrandt regularly worked with the Symphony Orchestra of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. As well he performed with the Pärnu City Symphony Orchestra, the Estonian National Youth Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, the String Ensemble of the Utrecht Conservatory, das Philharmonische Kammerorchester Berlin and the Russian National Orchestra.

In the summer of 2010, Rembrandt Zegers was accepted to the prestigious Neeme Järvi Academy, where he received lessons from Neeme Järvi and Leonid Grin. He also actively participated in masterclasses with Otto Tausk, Ronald Zallman, Lutz Köhler, Michail Jurowski, Alexander Polishchuk, Colin Metters and Paavo Järvi.

In 2006, Rembrandt graduated from The Utrecht School of the Arts with a Bachelor of Arts in trumpet performance. He played trumpet in serveral orchestras and ensembles such as the National Youth Brass Orchestra (Netherlands), the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Orchestra/Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and the Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra.

Rembrandt Zegers received the Willem Mengelberg Foundation Scolarship for young musicians of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2011 and will assist as conductor at the Tartu Opera in Estonia starting from 2012.
